The use of Technology at O'Connor & McCann has
diversified greatly in recent years and we are now a
fully computerized company offering electronic services
to supplement the cargo handling capabilities of the
company.
With a new network at the heart of our sales operations,
technology and the proliferation of communications applications
form the life line that connects us with our customers.
To achieve the best possible position for future growth,
O Connor & McCann has taken advantage of new applications
and developed a new Online Services System. This enables
our own employees and customers to find a specific cargo
quickly and easily. It's a great example of how we've
used technology to strengthen the bond between O Connor
& McCann and our customers. In 2000, the New System
was implemented as an integrated system, to facilitate
instant access to information. It is based on a client-server
environment and provides customers with cargo movement,
booking confirmation and cargo status. Overall, it provides
greater convenience and quality without wait, regardless
of the user's location.
Customers can rely on a variety of external interchange
information through our value-added IT features. Our
Auto Fax and EDI services give you easy access to up-to-date
shipping information whenever and wherever you are.
Our easy to use IT services are exclusively designed
with the consideration of customers in mind.
Prior to operational needs, personnel and management
can also obtain pertinent information. This will minimize
service irregularities and avoid unnecessary costs.
The IT team is currently working to further develop
the system making it more diversified. This will allow
the system to govern most areas of the company and will
contribute effectively to areas of equipment management,
staff organisation, and on-time decision making and
planning.
